As part of the Rio Tinto Sports Innovation Challenge with Imperial College London, Ian was part of a team of four multidisciplinary designers exploring the future of snow sports for differently abled athletes.

In conjunction with Sochi 2015, the project collaborated with Paralympians from TeamGB.

Gnar is a new outrigger for sitskiers, designed to allow greater freedom when on the slopes. With a novel release mechanism and extendable body, Gnar allows sitskiers to right themselves after a fall, replacing their reliance on other skiers.
